Products of Our Media II (Give us back our minds)

I find that due to constant exposure to media my mind often becomes clouded.
I feel that our constant exposure to media not only influences us (advertising, branding etc.) but also creates an inability to generate originality in ideas and thought.
Look at the constant stream of superhero movies that come out. These are story lines are (in many cases) decades old. There is nothing original coming from these films. There are no new ideas.
The same can be said of the mass amounts of stylized artwork and fan-art which is drawn.  Not to say that there is anything wrong with that, merely that it is a reflection of the situation at hand.

I wanted to have the media used in the image be representational of the message of the piece, thus, the smudging of the paint on the face and head of the figure.
This also works to symbolize the loss of mind, thought and identity, thus the relationship between the chosen artistic medium and the intended message of the painting is represented through both imagery and material.
