if you are in europe..and you see a sculpture of a naked bearded man wrestling or killing something...it IS hercules..NO MATTER WHAT! :XD:

What about the Laocoon? That has three naked men, neither of which are Hercules, wrestling snakes. And the Rape of a Sabine (which actually stands right near this statues) has a naked man wrestling a woman into his arms, and that isn't supposed to be Hercules.

well actually laocoon is being attacked and there's no real physical battle so much as he is dying. and as for the rape of sabine, that's not really wrestling if it's rape =p i suppose what i meant when i was refering to wrestling was a physical battle or a test of strength. sorry for the confusion ;)

Give me some time and I'm sure I'll be able to come up with another example of a "wrestling" naked man that isn't Hercules; I just can't think of any off the top of my head. Though, for the most part, you are probably right.

And of course this is the evnt that leads to Hercules dying because he has a wife dumb enough to take a gift from the guy dying by your husband
